Unable to retrieve MMS

I received a message from Airtel to use my mobile number and login with a password they sent on a particular http site so i will be able to view my mms. But it says wrong username and password. my number is 9611134304. And it is very irritating. The Customer Care says there is no service like that anymore. So, why does airtel keeps sending such useless messages then?
