The subject matter of the problem was that I started receiving jokes from 3333 without ever subscribing. While discussing with a friend, I found that this has been a prevalent malpractise by the company to sleaze out money out of its customers' pockets. I must add that I am their customer for about 10 years now, but it seems the company is no longer bothered about the loss of reputation that shall be caused because of these kind of malpractises.
Moreover, when i called up Customer Care (9810198101 at 12.00 noon on 7th May) to inquire as to how the service had been put on my number, the executive (Sumit) plainly said that the only option available to me was to unsubscribe by typing UNS JOKE and sending the SMS costing 3 rupees to 53333.
My inquiry regarding the time at which the service was subscribed for was left unattended and he said that I could only unsubscribe. When I asked him about the complaint registry procedure, he held up which is really unfortunate and uncalled for.
I request the concerned authorities to take notice and take requisite steps to make sure that the charge imposed is reimbursed and that such a thing is never repeated.
