Book
Non redemption of credit points

Dear Nitin,

I am writing this missive to you in the hope of a just redemption.

I became a member of the India Today Book Club with the first edition and my membership number was 99009133 and over the course of a number of years ordered a large number of books.

Eventually I amassed a lot of credit points for which you issued a certificate to me for the sum of Rs 5990/-(signed Nitin Sawhney) dated May.

Now that I want to redeem those points I have been informed via the helpline that the entire scheme has been closed and those points are worth zilch.

That to me seems to be an unsavory deal, due to:-

Firstly, the name of the firm i.e. India Today Book Club still remaining, without any alterations or bankruptcy claims, how can the earlier dues of the same firm inter alia be declared null and void.

Secondly, how can a reputed enterprise deny such a paltry sum on nebulous grounds.

Thirdly, I am not depending upon these Rs 5990/- for sustenance and caneasily forget the amount as a sour deal- but I am bothered more about a national icon i.e. India Today not being able to redeem a pledge made to one of its customers.

Eventually it would be sad day if you cannot satisfactorily resolve the issue that I have raised.

TY
