DMart
Return Policy / Arrogant Attitude

I am regular customer of Dmart at hinjewadi but recently purchased few items from baner store and faced below horror

(I purchased M sized baby diapers but needed L size so went back before 3 days along with original bill to baner shop and the M size diaper in excellent condition)

1) The exchange counter was closed at 11.10 am and I need to do several requests to staff to open exchange counter it as I was getting late on other activities. Finally the exchange counter was open

2) I wanted to exchange the items for the same price and requested the same. I was arrogantly told that I should have read all the boards in the shop before doing the purchase and should NOT ask for anything like exchange. I was completely shocked with this attitude.

3) I looked at the back at the bill looked at the refund instructions and then ask for refund. I was told that refund can be given but there will be some cut and less money will be refunded. I mentioned that there is nothing like cut which is mentioned under return policy. Again the same line “You should have read all the boards in the shop before doing the purchase and should NOT ask such questions. “ This attitude simply pissed me off and then I insisted that I want to talk to store manager.

4) Finally one teenage boy was presented in front of me as store manager. The person did not have any identify which was showing that he is related to Dmart forget about he being a store manager. Again the same question answers. But now a with a twist. The boy said that the bills says that “Management decisions are final “so whatever he says being final as he is from management. I simply walk away from the place as I was assured that my words are fallowing on deaf ears.

Thus can I know below things from Dmart as a store

1) Does exchange counters have separate timings from store and Is it expected from customers to follow-up for opening the exchange counters?

2) Can you please mention all the exchange policies on your bill or online so that consumers will be aware about what to expect during exchange?

3) How customers are expected to identify store manager/ in charge? Is this any uniform/ contact number mentioned?

4) From above mentioned incident as consumer I don’t fell like visiting dmart but by experience from hinjewadi shop encourages me to do the same. So what as a Dmart management can do to avoid such un pleasant incidents .?
