Poor customer care service

This is prakash working as SCM engineer in IBM Bangalore. I bought the new HTC Touch in chennai (sunday 29/7/07), they inserted the sim wrongly. That time i did not notice that. After returning to Bangalore i went to the airtel customer center at Bannerghatta road near BTM flyover. They asked me to take this problem to chennai where i bought the cell & that they cant help me with this issue. What should i do now? This is really poor service.
