On 27th Feb, I was being charged Rs.1 per message on Airtel. When I called the customer service, they registered a complaint and told me it would be resolved by 1st March. But, they did not inform me about this when I called them for the first time about the above mentioned issue. However, the same day, after I called the customer service, I recharged my number for Rs.52 to get the 500 SMS/day package. I was still getting charged Rs.1 per message. I called the customer service again and then they informed me about the new TRAI regulation (100 sms/day limitation).
Now, the issue is, If they had intimated me about the introduction of this new rule, I would not have recharged my number for Rs.52. As I already had 100 msg free per day in my basic plan. On top of that I had even activated the Rs.5 Daily pack before recharging for Rs.52.
I had to spend a total of Rs.57 for no reason. A total irresponsible service by Airtel. I dont think they will ever refund this money.
NOTE: All the service replies from Airtel for the messages I send still show that the Rs.52 package will give us 500 message/day. Even after withdrawing it.
Please have a look into this issue.
