Activation not done

My wife and myself registered for Airtel postpaid connections with similar numbers (corporate connection). My wife's connection got activated in a day but it did not happen to me even after 4 days. As a last-ditch attempt the Airtel personnel tried to give me a new SIM and asked me to wait for 3-4 hours. It did not help!

I waited patiently for seven hours before going to the Airtel showroom near our house. They couldn't directly help but said they would call up the corporate personnel. After a lot of time delay (since no one was picking up the phone), we got connected to a person who mentioned that he'll try his best to "push my activation up the queue in some server" - something which they had been trying since a day.

I waited again till EOD as he had requested and even till today (4 days since we had requested for connection activation) nothing has been done; to make matters worse I've already cancelled my existing connection with BSNL believing in Airtel! I spoke to this person, he wanted me to wait again but I told him there's no point in continuing this anymore! The number that never got activated is 9500046286.

This whole process has simply left me bitter, esp. considering the fact that this was my second attempt with Airtel (after a couple of years) and my first experience was not much better! Please tell me if I have done something incorrect in this entire episode and if someone can ease my bitterness!
