I had purchased Airtel sim card 2 years back from a genuine Airtel outlet located at Kadri, Shivabagh, Mangalore. On the 4 Sep I received a call requesting me to resubmit my identity proof and a passport photo which I should stress was submitted at the time of purchase of the sim card. The reason behind this call was that a person by name of Theresa has been registered using my sim card. First off I cannot understand how can Airtel make such a error. It is beyond shock and complete carelessness on the part of the manager at the Airtel outlet in Kadri, Shivabagh. Anyhow, I went to the nearest store that being the Airtel outlet in Saibeen Complex, Lalbagh. This was on the 4th Sep 2010. I submitted required documents upon which a receipt was given to me. I hereby quote the APEF no : 20047469. Now I was assured the matter will be taken care of. Instead I have continued to receive calls and smses requesting me to resubmit. I assured the concerned person that I have submitted and have proof. I was then told it will be updated in their systems. This has never happened as I still continue to recieve smses. I ask you is this what you call speedy action to cover up a huge error created and prolonged by Airtel. Please do take up the matter and resolve ASAP.
