Airtel
Harrassment calls

(Sent this email to TRAI, nodal/appellate officers as well as Chairman/CEOs of Airtel).

Respected Sirs/Madams

(At the outset, my apologies for sending this email to all known email ids in TRAI because I am not sure as to who is the right person to address my grievance).

I receive continuous calls of harrassment from Airtel.

They are forcing me, in a blatant violation of law, to get involved in the non-payment of some phone bill by Ms ********, a Delhi-based friend of mine. If my friend has refused to make payments for her phone bills to Airtel, she might have some grievance against Airtel and it is a completely personal matter between Airtel and Ms *****. If Airtel's dues are legitimate, then Airtel has numerous other legitimate and legal means to initiate proceedings.

Airtel cannot call me dozens of times, at odd hours and at times when I am busy in my work or meetings or when I am sleeping, just because Ms **** is a friend of mine and that she had used an Airtel number to call me some few months back.

The calls that I keep receiving are from the following numbers:

01143082851

01147610300

01147974400

I take strong objection to Airtel's strong-arm and coercing tactics to settle their disputes with individuals, by forcibly involving and harrassing completely non-related individual.

I hope to receive personal apology from the lady caller as well as from Airtel for this harrassment. If they fail to do so, I will start harrassing Airtel's senior officers with calls and smses in the same vein, in the same way as I have been harrassed and disturbed for the last over one week. (Being a media person, I have mobile numbers of 25 very senior executives of Airtel). I also wish to know from Airtel as to what disciplinary action will they initiate against the lady caller as well as their own officer responsible for "debt collection".

I wish to underline this to Airtel officers very clearly that their own tactics can be very well used against them, if they continue to harrass non-responsible persons for their own money. Airtel just once again proves that their company can stoop to any level and adopt to any illegal means to get their money.

If my grievance is not addressed, I will take this issue to various other platforms, including but not limited to publishing exclusive newsletter to all our registered users on our Observer websites (including www.IndianTelecomObserver.com). I also reserve my right to resort to legal proceedings to claim financial damages from Airtel for all the agony caused to me. And, rest assured that the matter will get a lot of publicity in media.

With best wishes and warm regards

Bhupesh
