Airtel – Uneven billing charges in first month after porting

My name is ram, i have recently ported to airtel from vodafone, in very first month am facing problems of uneven billing charges and poor customer service. I rarely use gprs/internet on mobile phone as i use Tata Photon Mobile broadband service. I used gprs from mobile (when am away from my system) like i used to use before porting but am shocked to see that in the very first month am charged Rs. 4, 653 only for the gprs charges where am usually charged not more than Rs. 50 to 100 in Vodafone with same usage (without any internet rentals).

My services are barred without providing me details why the charges are levied but on bill generation i confirmed it was for gprs usage charges.

It is surprise to see that the time i used gprs as shown in bill is the time i slept at night and when am busy in office - i can’t use gprs on mobile when am sleeping and its funny to think that i used in office where am connected to 100mbps internet.

I have called customer service several times and spoke with several people when my unbilled amount is Rs. 2700 even after requesting for cancellation of gprs services and after disabling gprs completely from my end i was surprised to see the charges are now Rs. 4, 653.

I have all the details of the persons whom i spoke with and the emails i have sent but none handled the issue.

So friends, be careful before porting.
