My parents have had Airtel connection for many years now. Their monthly bill never exceeded Rs.500 per month. Couple of months ago, they received a bill of Rs. 5000. When asked, they said the applications used on the phone have been charged to my parent.

When told that my parent do not have an internet connection, they just ignored it. My parents gave them in writing that this bill is disputed but Airtel refused to accept the letter. They have been abusive, high-handed and just plain nonchalant about treating their 5 year old customer.

We even paid 2, 000 rupees to close the matter. The customer guy told us that the accnt is closed and we can cut and throw away the SIM cards. Later we saw the prank - the receipt does not say "accnt closure". Now they have started harassing my relatives (which I believe is illegal) asking for our new numbers.

Never knew Airtel could be such a horrible hair-raising, eyebrow raising experience!
