Attitude of staff, No proper Communication

Dear Sir,

I enrolled for Airtel IPTV Service on 01 Jan (Kalasipalyam New Extn, Bangalore). I have Broadband and IPTV connection over i a single line with Airtel IPTV

For the installation of service, I’ve paid Rs.1750/- as installation charge with a monthly pack of Rs.999 per month which includes unlimited broadband at 512kbps speed and IPTV connection. From the day i have added IPTV Connection to my broadband package, i had the most unbearable experience with the company. Since IPTV is new to Bangalore, there are no proper representative to give you exact information about the product.

Few days (third week of Jan) after the connection, on my TV i got a message stating that the system is rebooting the software please wait. It took around 3 hours but my TV didnt work, at all i had to switch off the TV because of which the IPTV stopped working. The set top now needs a replacement and the representative took 7 days to replace the the box and the company provided no credit because loss of service for 7 days. If the service was launched recently, I fail to understand the need for a server upgrade. Why has the service been commercial when the basic infrastructure is not ready to support the triple service.

After this, one day (first week of Feb) i got a call from a airtel representative stating i would get a free webspace worth Rs.250/- a month since i m on the 999 package. I opted as it was free. But unfortunately i was charged 250/- on the forth coming bill... i enquired about this and they said its not free... i informed them of miscommunication and they waived off... i told them to remove that feature... To my astonishment, i had a charge of Rs.250/- for the next 2 consecutive months after informing to remove the feature.

I thought the problems ends and now i can peacefully watch IPTV but unfortunately no, on 8th Aug my set top box suddenly stops working... I don't know what the reason was... i called the customer care and they told the prob would get resolved in 12 hours which i knew is impossible and that was true non of the representative called to check the status...

Next day i called them back and a representative (Mr. Vinay - 09844442898) was sent at 3pm on 9th aug when my mom was alone at home... He didnt know what to do... According to my mom, he just removed the wire and fixed it again... even after informing him that the set top box was not working, he didnt even touched it... After 2 hours of his rock and roll, he came to the conclusion that the set top box is not working... he informed us that he will come the next day at 10 am (i.e. 10th Aug) to replace it and went away.

The very next day i started calling him from 9.30am, this guy didn't receive the call. After 45 mins of continuous calling, he receives it and tells that he is in a meeting and will come after 3 hours... i told him i wont be available after 3 hours please come before that and the answer was we dont meetings everyday and so i cant come... I told to give the call to the manager otherwise i will log a complaint against and guess what would his answer go head!!!

My family members are deprived of their entertainment needs as the TV is down.

The problems faced by any Airtel Customer can be:

1. Attitude of staff (No respect for customers)

2. False Promise

3. No proper knowledge with the employees (they don't know what are they doing)

4. Delay in technical services (Never on time resolution)

5. Mental torture

6. Agony

By subscribing to this Airtel service, I seem to have enrolled for agony, if nothing else.

I want Airtel to restore my service, confirm that the service will run uninterrupted as the whole communication gets affected with this service, refund me the installation amount and compensate me for the denial of services, false hope and false promises, non-functioning of TV and for the harassment, mental agony caused to me and my parents. (I want this to be given in writing)

Also, Airtel should be directed to put in a geographic redundant system so there are no further excuses like service upgrades the whole communication needs are affected by an untested system/service. Allowing such services on one pipe is catastrophic itself in nature and such services let Airtel monepolize and take the customer to ransom by not committing to restoration of services. No Telecommunication services should be allowed to run if the Operator cannot restore it in 2-3 hrs.
