You must be aware that Mobile operators (the "Operators") in India are providing a service known as CALLLER TUNE (the "Service") which plays unique song/s or tune when a call is made to that specific Mobile Number, for which the Operators charge any thing from Rs.15/- to Rs.30/- as download charges and Rs.30/- (per month) as subscription charges, its a fantastic service by which the Operators have gained substantial revenue.
The general practice adopted by the the Operators is when a call is made to such Mobile customer who has subscribed to the Service is before the caller tune is played an advertisement is played saying "IS GAANE KO COPY KARNE KE LIYE *... DABAIYE DOWNLOAD CHARGES Rs. &-/-, MONTHLY CHARGES Rs. &/- APPLY" which is nothing but an advertisement (the "Advertisement") at the cost of the Mobile Subscriber.
Sir, Since the said Service is a paid service how can the Operators play an advertisement at the cost of the Subscriber which a clear voilation of Consumers Rights and above all the subscriber pays for a sort of personalisation. But infact all the subsrcibers paying for the Service have common Caller Tune i.e. the Advertisement.
You are requested to take this matter urgently with the Operators and stop these Advertisement immediately and oblige Millions of subscribers.
