Delay in refund

I had a railway ticket from brahmapur to kharagpur as per the details given below. the train was diverted and did not touch brahmapur. there was no announcement of diversion. I came to know about it only when i went to enquire about it that too at 6pm.the scheduled departure is 12 noon. had to face difficulty in getting back to kharagpur and filed tdr on 22nd june. the status till today is pending. i donot understand the delay in arranging a refund. this will make me think twice before i use the irctc site for booking of the tickets.
