Non Clearence of local cheque

I deposited a local cheque on 27th of feb in hdfc atm kalyani nagar branch in pune, but it was not cleared even on 4th of march. So I went to the branch and recieved my cheque back and deposited it on the window at hdfc kondhwa branch in pune and they told me that the cheque will be cleared on the same day but when it was not cleared, I registered a complaint at customer care and they told me that it will take minimum 7 days but they are still not sure. This is a question on hdfc bank services. I just want my cheque to be cleared.
