Harrassment by recovery agents

I was given HSBC credit card with Life time free of annual charges. They started charging me annual fee from the second year, I called up their customer care and asked them to cancel the card as I would not want to continue with the card with annual fees. The annual fee was reversed in the year 08-09 and same thing repeated for the year 09-10. This year also when I called up to cancel the card, they took my request and informed me that they would reverse the charges and cancel the card. This was in the month of June'10.

I got call one day (10th Oct) from their loan recovery agent regarding the pending payment of Rs. 6000/- to be paid immediately and receipt details to be given to him next day.

I took up this matter with HSBC and after after sending email and communication got zero dues email from them on October 31st.

I got call from the same number on 17th Nov asking for the payment to be made. I explained the caller about my communicaton with HSBC and getting zero dues email from them hence he should check with the bank regarding the same.

He asked to read out the email to him.

I feel they have outsourced the recovery to recovery agents who do not get updated information even after 15 days and continue harrassing people for the same.

I am still awaiting no dues certificate from HSBC, which they are delaying for obvious reasons.

I hope someone can take appropriate action against these banks who are flouting all the laws and regulations.
