Hi,
I booked a ticket of Doronto express (2228158838) but since train was running late by over 6 hours, i cancelled the ticket by filing TDR for it and went by some other means. But after a week i got refund of half amount (420 INR) whereas the ticket was of 840 INR. Under clause 2 of TDR cancellation refund rules i should get full refund of the money as train ran by more than 3 hours late and i didn't travel.
Here is the rule-
In case of train running late by more than three hours & the passenger not performing journey on this account, full refund is permitted subject to the condition that the ticket is surrendered/TDR obtained in case of I-ticket, if is in E-ticket customer should file online/mail to IRCTC within the prescribed time limits which are as under-.
Ticket distance Prescribed time
Upto 200 Kms 3 Hrs
201- 500 Kms 6 Hrs
More than 500 Kms 12 Hrs
I had complained about this to IRCTC, but they just replied that it is forwarded to concerned department. Even after two weeks i didn't here any replies from them which is expected from Central govt run railways. Only option left to me now is lodge a consumer complaint.
