Not exchanging of damaged batteries

Hi,

My bike battery has 60months warranty. But the warranty card is missing. However the battery has manufacturing date of 12/09 and its only 21months from manufacturing date. I never understand how my warranty is invalid just because i don't have the purchase date? is The battery manufacturing date printed is not valid for warranty.
