Video game not working from the first day

I got this video game for my daughter as a christmas present and from the very first day it is not working. I dont know whats wrong with this thing. My daughter got very upset as she was in a notion that Santa had given this gift to her as a christmas present. Moreover I am not getting a service centre for repairing it. Please help me.
