Fraudulent bills

Airtel has the culture of sending fraudulent bills and threatening calls from their lawyers. On 23rd July I asked for shifting my phone no. 01147052326 to the new place I was shifting. I was told it would be done in 5 days. I shifted on 23rd. There was no response from Airtel after that. When I called on 30th July, I was told that they can not shift because they do not have spare line in the new place. On 1st August, I informed them to cancel my connection. They offered me a proposal that they would put me on hold for a month on Rs 250 plan which I do not need to pay, and in the meanwhile they will try to provide me a connection. After waiting for another week or two, I called them and confirmed that I do not want to wait any further and that my connection be cancelled with immediate effect. There had been couple of calls from Airtel after that insisting me to wait for some more time, but, I did not agree. And, now they have again sent me a bill against that connection which I have not been using for the past two months. I know that they will keep sending the bills and after 2-3 months their lawyer will call up either to pay or to face litigation. And, the poor consumer, that I am, will not like to go into those hassled and would eventually pay against the fraudulent bills. They have already done it with me in case of shifting of my office phone. When we say that we had asked for disconnection against so and so call reference number, they would say that we might have requested, but that our request was not processed by them.
