I purchased a FIAT PALIO SDX KA 53 N2044, CHASIS NO- 17888F8070086 FRZ, ENGINE NO- 2739117 month of July from Concord motors Bangalore.
While driving from Mercara-Bangalore route on 25-05-09 at 12 .30 pm one of my front tyre (Left hand side (12200km)) got burst, luckly I have escaped by Gods grace only because I am riding at 45 to 50 km/h speed just before entering in to the straight highway.. Tyre manufacturer is Good year with the serial number 24 08 Jun 08. 165 80 R 13 GPS2 (12200km)
I have reported next day to concord motors service centre and registered the complaint. They have called the service engineer from Goodyear and they have inspected the tyre on 28-05-09 and reported that the tyre failure is normal (Report attached) and cannot be replaced under warranty. The report itself says that % worn out is 69% and the Km covered is 12460.
I am totally upset with report and action taken by Goodyear technical team ie not to replace the tyre which is under warranty (covered only 12460km/10months) and also to drive the vehicle because OE tyre that too from a world class tyre manufacturer have burst with in an year of purchase and all the other four tyres are from the same lot, So I have lost full confidence with driving the vehicle with rest of the tyres.
I thank God again for saving my life, if that would have been happened when I was driving in straight highway, the case would have been different.
Hence I request you to consider this as a serious issue and I look forward for a positive reply from your end and I hope I will get the tyres replaced so no such incidents will happen in the future, there by ensuring the safety of the customer.
