Dvd drive not working

My laptop model hcl notebook P28 PDC is giving me a lot of problems its dvd is completely not working and plus my laptop gets hanged very frequently and sometimes wen i turn on the laptop it doesnt start n wen i try to shut it it doesnt get shut n i have 2 take out the battery its just 5-6 months n so much problems please help me...
