I purchased a desktop AZ 1076 for Rupees 20000/- from the annual sale at HCL's corporate office in Noida. The computer was delivered on 31st December without DVD player in it. At the sale counter I was told that the computer would have the DVD writer. But when delivered it neither had cd writer nor DVD writer.
After lodging the complaint and making umpteen calls, a DVD writer was delvered but against cash of rupees 1300/-.
This is a clear act of cheating and shows that the company's brand value is not worth rupees 1300/- even.
On Further discussions I was told that if it is mentioned in the receipt issued at counter or in the invoice they can consider the case. Now the receipt issued at sales counter only contain the model number and invoice does not speak about the DVD wiriter as it was deliverwed without the DVD writer.
Having visited the web site I came to know that HCL is selling their model AZ 1096 for Rs 23490/- which is having 2.0 GHZ dual core with higher RAM and Hard Disk and also DVD writer and 17" TFT where as I was given AZ1076 (1.8 GHZ) dual core without DVD witer (Though It was promised) with 17' TFT at so called discounted price at annual sale (a real loot) for Rs 20, 000/-.
IS it not an act of cheat by HCL.
I would like to request all the concerns to fulfill the promise made or take back the computer and return my money.
