This is in regards to 2 credit cards I had with HDFC Bank in the card numbers being - 4346772000167212 and 4346771004175973.
My concern is that I got both the cards settled in March. The outstanding amount and the amount I paid against those cards is as under:
Card no: 4346772000167212
Outstanding: 16000
Amount paid: 13000
Card no: 4346771004175973
Outstanding: 28000
Amount paid: 25000
Unfortunately, I wasn't aware or I should say was never informed that I would be black listed if I get those cards settled. And I would have never known it; not until I decided to top up my existing personal loan with HDFC bank. So, I decided to get this taken care of and called HDFC CC division. This was in Jan. I was told by the representative that I need to pay Rs.3048 and Rs.3212 respectively to clean my name. This happened on 13th Jan and 11th Jan. Thereafter, when I contacted them again, the amount automatically inflated and I was told that I had to pay additional Rs.4715 and Rs.5358 respectively. What would you call this? - Cheating on the customer. Both those accounts were closed by 18th Jan however, they should have been closed way back in March which was original month when I got those cards settled.
Please advise.
