Sir/ Madam,

I have a savings account at the Sion branch of HDFC Mumbai. My husband also has a similar account. We have been identified as classic customers.

Recently it took me a week to get a new cheque book. You do not issue cheque books at the banks but insist on mailing it to our residence by courier. We are both working (Doctors )—there is no one at home to receive the courier parcel. After the first courier visit –he left a -- I missed you note. I called up the courier company right away and gave him details of my neighbour to whom he could hand over the parcel the next day. I had left authorization note, identity card etc with my neighbour –but the courier person did not turn up for the next three days –citing the reason that he was short staffed! I literally had to call him daily enquiring about his impending visit.

I find this exasperating – I cannot understand why I cannot get a simple item like a cheque book from the bank itself like so may other banks. Moreover we both opened accounts here at the neighbourhood bank since at that time they used to work on Sundays and it was convenient for both of us. Ofcourse promptly after that the bank changed its schedule to a regular week day working!

I do not find any of the services customer friendly at all.

I trust you will pay due attention to genuine problems.
