I am currently fuming with anger at the way i am being cheated by Home Town, Bangalore.
I had made an order for a dresser with mirror (costing 8000) on the 18th of October. As is usually is the case, they dint have the stock, and they convinced me that the delivery will be made on 1st November. I paid the money instantly believing them taht they will stick to their word. But to my horror, this did not happen.
I started making follow up calls, almost 5 times everyday, starting 1st of November. Everytime a different person used to answer the call, used to take the advance receipt number of my order, and tell me that since there is some problem with their systems they cannot track the order but will verify and will call me after some time. Some times they would call back, and sometimes they would not. Almost always when ever they called, they assured me that the product will be delivered on the same day. Once a person also told me that the product is already on its way to my place.
Then on 5th of November, i call them up again, and when i got a similar response, i literally bashed up verbally the lady on the other end of the phone and her manager and threatened that i would complain to the concerned department. They fretted and then started making frantic calls all over Home Town and their warehouse department to find out what the problem was. Then they called me back..this time their Customer Manager, and told me that they have only two products available in stock - one is damaged and he other they are not able to track. And now after almost a month after i made the payment he tells me that i can come and choose some other product with the same price and they will do the delivery.
Why the hell would i do that? To be cheated again? I am totally confused now..planning to the shop tomorrow and get this sorted out with the Senior guy. I will make sure that i get my money back.
This miserable experience has taught me a few things... which i think will be helpful for the others also.
1. Home Town only makes false promises for delivery, they are never prompt.
2. The staff is totally useless and there is no coordination between them, When things go wrong, they end up playing the blame game.
Today, i owe that i will never step into that shop again..and will warn all my friends/aquaitances against the same. Hope i have passed on the message.
On the other note, can someone please tell me if there is any way of suing these people? Is there a customer grievances cell in Bangalore whom i can approach and lodge a complaint? Thanks in advance.
