India Today Book Club owe me 2249/- plus interest from 05-09. I lodged an online complaint on 20-07 and after some time I receive a reply stating that they re interested in solving the issue. They had debited my card account with Rs2249/- and miserably / wantonly failed to supply the consignment as promised by them.
Many e mail reminders and notice under certificate of posting as well as under registered post with acknowledgment due evoke no response. Their repeated reply is that the matter has been referred to the concerned department and will settle the matter after hearing from them.
It is their department which is sleeping for quite a long time or it may be the tactics followed by the company to enjoy the public money.
If the company has received money like this from a minimum of 2 lac persons, it should be enjoying more than 400 lac of rupees without interest!!!
The company's records should be completely investigated / scrutinized and immediate action should be taken against the company for any misappropriation of public money and the money due to the individuals should be sent to them immediately after verification by the Central Government.
