Efund of money on ticket cancellation

I had booked five tickets for travel, in the month of March from Chennai to Mumbai by the then Air Deccan (PNR No. 6870927) for travel in the month June. Later I canceled the ticket. I was not given any refund though the terms in the ticket mentioned that I will be refunded the amount. I was given credit voucher number. I was also told that the credit voucher will be valid for a period six months.

In the meantime, Air Deccan was taken over by Kingfisher. When I called, I was told that Kingfisher will honor all commitment by Air Deccan.

When I wanted to utilize these vouchers, I was told that only that person in whose name the ticket was booked can avail of this facility, which was very unfair as I as head of the family had paid for the ticket. When I protested and informed that those passengers were not likely to fly for a long time to come and I wanted to utilize the same for my travel, I was denied. But I was assured that the ticket will be valid till June.

When I contacted them in May for utilisation of Credit voucher, I was tols in a nice mail by Kingfisher (see they have style) that I cannot get my refund as it is time barred and that they are not responsible for their employee informing me that ticket will be valid till June. Amount Involved is Rs. 5200/-.

How can a reputed airline swallow customer money like this without providing any service.
