In 2006 I have applied for ABN AMRO Credit Card, with an agent who came to our office with bundle of offers..
a) Lifetime free
b) Rs. 5000 Gift Vouchers
c) Travel Ticket for GOA
d) First Year Free Medical Insurance
Lured by the offer I have applied for the card, giving my old Credit Card statement for reference (HSBC statement of 2005 having nearly Rs. 17, 000 as outstanding but (Status at the time of application was 0 balance)).
I got the new ABN AMRO card following with the first month statement with Rs. 17000 as Outstanding..
When I enquired they said that they have sent a cheque for balance transfer for HSBC card outstanding.. (Note: statement is very old and also Balance was 0 at that time).
I asked them to stop sending the cheque and also told them about the statement is old and I don't require and I haven't opted for..
Next month the statement came with added Rs.7000, overall around Rs. 24000, after enquiring they said it is charged for medical insurance from ICCI Lombard.
Received health card from ICCI with wrong Spouse name and Age.
I wrote many mails and requested to cancel everything and also sent mails complaining about their agent false promise..
Finally they reverted and the balance came to Rs. 9000.. (Note: I have not used the card at all)..
Whenever I approach them to nullify the balance / issue fresh card... everytime they say in your next statement it will be done so..
But this was continuing.. hence I cut the card and dropped in their box..
But till now intermittently they call and requesting to settle the outstanding of Rs. 9000..
Presently they say the outstanding is for the New card charges.. (Note: it is a lifetime free card.. )
How to solve this problem..?
I haven't used the card anywhere..
