Lost Sim/mobile blocking

Hi,

I have been an airtel postpaid customer since last couple of years.

My phone no is 0-98181 85223 and it is a delhi phone number.

Today i.e. Oct 4th i have lost my phone in Hyderabad where i was visiting my relatives.

I realised that the phone is lost/stolen at around 9pm tonight and since then i have been trying to call the number but the thief has switched it off.

I contacted airtel customer care through my daughter's phone (by dialling 121) and the response i got was that you have to go to airtel outlet and register a complaint there.

When i tried to reason with customer care saying that since all outlets will be closed for the night, i will be able to register a complaint only tomorrow.

During this time, the thief can do a lot of mischief with my SIM card. But the customer care executive said that they cannot do anything and neither they can provide me with any other number to call.

Through you I would like to address this issue with Airtel and i hold them responsible for the uncaring and ir-responsible customer service.

Also, any phone calls made from my number (98181 85223) wont be my responsibility and neither will I pay for them.
