No network, poor service!

I have been using an Airtel post paid corporate connection, phone number: 9903033197 since august. I have been putting up at Newtown Rajarhat, Kolkata. Since the day my connection got activated I have been facing severe network problem.

The network is not at all stable in this part of town. Sometimes the situation is so bad that I can not find any signal even when I walk four blocks from my home. The voice quality is poorest. Frequent call drops add to my frustration and to the people on the other side of the line. The connection has become a headache.

I lodged a complaint (No. 11303443) with the customer service at 121 on 28th January. They assured me that this problem would be solved in some time and I would get a call back on the same from technical department. Nothing changed. I logged in repeated calls all in vain. On 11th March I made another separate complaint (No. 11813931). I was assured that the issue will be resolved in the first Quarter of 2007. Nothing has changed Till date. I can see all my complaints with status open.

Whenever I call the customer service, I get a single reply we are working on it. A new tower will be installed near your locality in due time. I can not use my cellphone with your connection in Newtown. I have to come out in a football ground any time of day or night to talk, otherwise I end up ruining the mood on both sides of the line. There have been instances when I have moved out in rain with an umbrella just to receive important STD calls.

I would like to ask a few questions.

1. Does it take 5 Months (Jan - May) to install a Tower?

2. If this is the quality of service your company provides, how can you even dream of claiming "Jao kahin bhi karo kuch bhi..." in your advertisement?

I can see a guy playing chess over the phone sitting in a train. I am not sure if he can do that using your poor service. ALL YOUR ADVERTISEMENTS ARE A FARCE!

3. Your company claims to be amongst the top service provider, Even a Government company like BSNL or Trump provides better service. Should I move down to the consumer court and lodge a case of mental harassment and cheating?

4. I have been paying on an average 3000Rs as phone bills, I consider that a waste and I feel cheated. Airtel does not deserve a penny on behalf of such a poor service. How can you even charge a person for no service?
