To block the handset

Hi,

Someone has stolen my cell on 30 Nov and I am wondering for help to block the handset so that it would be useless for an theft.

I have IMEI number, original bill and Police complaint copy with me.

I went to Sony Authorized service (R.T. OUTSOURCING Services Ltd JHASHI RANI CHWOK, 14, 15, @nd FLoor, Sanskrutik Sankul NAGPUR MAHARASTRA INDIA) center they suggested this is not possible and even their reply/feedback was iterating. In short these guys are not helpful and could not help out the customer

Kindly help me out either to block the handset or to trace the handset
