Regarding disconnection of numbers

I was using Airtel number: 0120-4222673 (along with broadband), since last more then 3 years. It was for my office Purpose. On 24th September i made a call to shift the connection to my new office address. I had to shift at new address on 1st of october.

After making the request I received call from airtel (next day) and they said shifting of connection will take 3-4 days. I confirmed them to shift the connection. Connection was not shifted till 1st of october. I waited, and i delayed my office shifting process, because broadband is a backbone of my business, and it was much needed.

On 4th of october i received call from Airtel that it is not possible to shift the connection to the new address immediately. they also said it will take 15-20 days to shift the connection.

They offered me either to cancel it or to retain the shifting process. I opted for retaining the shifting process, because it was needed. but as i had to shift my office as well. so i applied for BSNL broadband. on 5th of october i again received the same call for the same thing.. i also replied the same. so i was hoping that connection will be shifted by 25th of october to my new address.

meanwhile i started with BSNL broadband, and shifted the office immediately. then later on 14th of october i called airtel customer care again to know the status, and they said that there is no request of shifting of this number. I was surprised. then i asked them to look into the history and conversations held on 4th and 5th october. then they asked me to wait, and they came up and said that it will take another 15-20 days for shifting of this connection. i was again surprised. but i was needy at that time i said ok i can wait till 5th November.

then i again called them on 24th of october to know the status, they said that there executive will contact me in 24 hours to tell me the status. I was again surprised that i havent received any call till 29th of october (it was me who contacted them again). they said me the same thing. so after that i never received any call from airtel regarding this issue. and my connection was not shifted either. so on 7th november, my colleague call them to ask the status, but they had no information, then my colleague said, ok please dont do further processing for this number, and cancel it. they said ok withing 24 hours you will receive call from our executive and it will be canceled. and it is not yet canceled. i had a parallel line on my mobile phone from that landline connection, so i am now receiving threatening calls from airtel to pay them for october, november december, as this line is still active. I am really shocked, the monthly rental of that connection was around 5500 (including taxes) rs, so it means i have to pay them 16500 (approx) rs for no any use, and for their negligence, and their incompetency, and their rude behaviour.

I REQUEST TO PLEASE PLEASE CANCEL THIS CONNECTION, I am not a rich person to pay this amount for nothing.
