Awaiting refund for 4 months

Dear Sir,

My wife and I had used the services of MAKE MY TRIP to travel to Srilanka on the 27th of January' 2010 for 6days. I booked only the flights with them. My Itenary was Pune-Chennai-Colombo-Chennai-Kolkata. My first flight was from Pune to Chennai was cancelled by Spicejet because of fog in Delhi and I was stranded in Pune airport at 1:30am thereby missing my connecting flight from Chennai to Colombo. Fortunately both Spicejet and Air India express were very co-operative and promised me a REFUND (by email) promptly. After coming back from my vacation, I followed up the same with Make My trip. They took 15 working days to confirm that I was eligible to receive the REFUNDS. The amounts were

2 Domestic Flight Ticket Refunds (from Pune to Chennai in Spicejet)=2180 x 2= 4360 (INR)

2 International Flight Ticket Refunds (from Chennai to Colombo in Air India Express)= 2059x2= 4118 (INR)

Thereby making my TOTAL REFUND AMOUNT = 8478 (INR)

In the meantime HSBC called me and told me that because I swiped my card in Srilanka, they were blocking it because they suspected misuse and reissued a new card. THEY HOWEVER CONFIRMED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THAT THE BACKEND ACCOUNT NUMBER DOESNT CHANGE IN THE EVENT THE PLASTIC CARD IS CHANGED.

Anyways, after several frustrating phone calls and mindless back and forth, I finally got the refund a month later thanks to a Supervisor Mr. Rizwan Uddin,

22nd of Feb' 2010 - 2180 (INR)

27th of Feb' 2010 - 2180 (INR)

However, my woes hadnt come to an end which I realized as soon as I got my statement as of 17th March' 2010.

I realized that I HAVE GOT ONLY 1 SET OF REFUNDS. Then started the new saga of pain and frustration. Numerous disconnections, even more calls and further more EMAILS, plenty of arrogance and ignorance, a lot of shuffling and blame game between MAKEMY TRIP and HSBC. Its been 4 months since and I HAVEN'T received my SECOND SET of REFUNDS.

2 International Flight Ticket Refunds (from Chennai to Colombo in Air India Express)= 2059x2= 4118 (INR)

I have contacted the travel agent with phone calls and emails and have always been fobbed off with the following statements:

ALLEGATION:

Your credit card number has changed

FACT:

Even if Plastic Card changes, the backend account number is PERMANENT!!!

PROOF:

FIRST SET OF REFUNDS reflect under this NEW CARD STATEMENT!!!

ALLEGATION:

The refund has been done by them and its the Bank which has witheld it.

FACT:

My monthly statement shows otherwise.

PROOF

My monthly statement and the conference call with HSBC and MAKEMYTRIP (I have it recorded)

I think I have gone on long enough so will end by mentioning the PROOF I HAVE!!!

1. Record of all email send to MAKEMYTRIP and HSBC

2. CALL RECORDING of conversation between HSBC, MAKEMYTRIP and I

3. TELEPHONE BILLS of all calls made to MAKEMYTRIP and HSBC during this period

I continue to pay interest on the REFUND amount pending toward my card at a interest rate of 3.35%/month and havent received a response to my emails since 10th of APRIL' 2010.
