I had a very bad experience today with the service Makemytrip has given me.

ISSUE: I wanted to re-schedule my flight from 2nd of Nov to 31st of Oct.

I contacted (phone) makemytrip at 30th Oct 1500hrs and told the agent to re-schedule. They informed me that the flight from Bangalore to Delhi was available at 0810hrs and total amount required to do this re-scheduling would be 1650 rupees. The agent told me to login to makemytrip webpage and made the payment of 1650 rupees through Credit Card successfully. I dint receive any confirmation mail from makemytrip till 1800 hrs 30th Oct. So called makemytrip to check my status as I dint receive any confirmation mail.

I was shocked to hear when the agent said that my flight is still scheduled for Nov 2nd and not 31st Oct. I told the agent that I made payment of 1650 rupees to re-schedule to 31st Oct. He then put me on hold several times and told me that they received the amount 1650 rupees and did not re-schedule it because the call was dropped and they did not know the date.

This is completely un-expectable as the amount that I made to reschedule 1650 rupees was told by the agent itself. How can the agent say they did not know the date and the amount to re-schedule is 1650? Doesn’t make any sense at all.

Some more things:

• If the call was dropped after successful transaction for re-schedule of flight to 31st Oct why did not the agent try reaching to me (customer) by phone, SMS or email to confirm the dates?

• Why did makemytrip take 1650 rupees and did nothing? Even though both makemytrip agent and customer knew that the amount 1650 was to re-schedule the flight to 31st Oct.

• Why does makemytrip want to confirm the dates after successful transaction? Makes no sense at all as the passenger/customer is aware that his flight is at 31st Oct and the charge for it was 1650 rupees.

Then I told the agent to escalate the case. He then put his supervisor Shain Verma on call. I asked Shain all of the above question to which he had no answers and bluntly told me that I need to pay extra 1380 rupees or they would re-fund the entire ticket. All this happened at 1900hrs 30th Oct.

I then ended up paying 13800 rupees for no reason and confirmed my flight for 31st Oct (6am).

Can someone look at this and help answer my questions or pay back 1380 rupees as compensation.
