I bought an Airtel Sim (91-9940232581) in Chennai on 27th August. After 2 weeks of normal service the number got disconnected (Error-Sim Registration Failed). I called up Airtel customer care which was in itself a humungous task to talk to the right person. Customer Care told that your number was not contactable for verification and that’s why the number got disconnected. But I am not able to understand that when any of my friends are calling me they never had this problem of not contactable. Anyways, then I talked to the shop owner from whom I bought the sim (Krishna Electricals-OMR) and he said that he has given the correct documents to the distributor (Jinnah) who apparently submits the forms to the airtel office, after this I talked to the nodal office and they said that your credentials (even the sim number) is not matching. Now the distributor and even his boss (Sarvanan) are so dumb that they cant understand anything. This has been happening for the past 2 days. Everyone is putting the blame on each other. Now I have to go all the way to Adyar from Shonlinganallur for this and I am not sure whether the number will work again or not (the sim is having Rs. 360 balance). What I don’t understand is why the services industry is so bad here when their work is to provide service.
