I had placed an order vide order No.904261345 for Everwel 6 pc Vintage Serving Set containing three steel containers (handi) and three serving spoons with Home shop18. The order has been received by me on 5/7. On opening the packing, it was found that the handle of the largest handi was defective as it was parted away from the handi body. Immediately, I contacted the representative of Home Shop18 who informed that I will have to send the defective handi through Courier to HS18 and after inspecting the defect, I shall be given a new handi or the defective handi shall be made good. In this regard, I would like to inform you that I being a force personnel does not have that much time, that I would go to Jammu City and find a Courier company and then send the product through courier. Secondly, we have very much restrictions being an armed force, in that we are not allowed to go out of camp every day and every time. Thus, it is impossible for me to send the defective product through courier.

Secondly, this procedure has never been explained to a customer that what is expected to be done in case of defective pieces. Had I been explained about this, I would never ordered a product from Home Shop or any online shopping company. Further, it is mandatory from part of HS18 that firstly the customer has to pay for the product to the courier person and then only he can receive the product and can inspect it. This procedure is also not satisfactory from customer’s point of view. Just imagine, what would be a middle class person’s position when he would see that for a product which he have paid full amount is defective. I HAD REQUESTED THE HS18 TO SEND ME A REPLACEMENT OF THE ABOVE PRODUCT AND THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT WILL BE RETURNED BY ME THROUGH THE SAME COURIER PERSON.

HS 18 IS TAKING IT IN CASUAL WAY AND INTIMATING ME THAT I SHALL BE SENT A SMS CONTAINING COURIER COMPANY DETAILS BUT NO SMS HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY ME.

I REQUEST AN ACTION SHALL BE TAKEN AGAINST THE COMPANY, SO THAT NO OTHER FRIENDS SHOULD BE HARRASSED IN THIS WAY.
