I had purchased a LG microwave from the “seconds” section with which I have faced some problems. I had visited the LG godown whereby the concerned person showed me the models available along with the defects each had and accordingly, I had consented to purchase model # 8089 TLR priced Rs 8292/-, after a 40% discount.
I would like to mention here that the defects in the microwave as shown and mentioned by the concerned person at the time of selection of model at the godown were as follows :
- PCB board was defective and had subsequently been replaced
- A small scratch on the door
However, on receiving the item the following defects were found on the microwave :
- Two small scratches on the door
- Broken body on the right side back corner
- A badly dented back portion (netted) – looks as though it has been smashed
- The rotisserie rod missing
- The accessories inside the microwave (which were seen packed at the time of selection) were all unpacked
Considering the discrepancies in what was selected and the item received, I thought it wise to bring it to your notice so that you may be able to take necessary action on the issue. I had made a call to LG and the call no. is C09B2713507. I would also like to mention that a copy of the Invoice has been collected by an LG personnel on 10 December’09 from my residence. The Invoice no. is 109/23073
An LG personnel had been working on this and mentioned that it would be replaced. However, the person got transferred and therefore I had to contact LG service again. They then mentioned to contact a person in Marketing division. However, this person also refused any help.
I now have the product at my place since November'09 unable to utilise it, or throw it out.
Even if it is purchased from the seconds shop, I felt the staff should have been honest enough to send the correct product. I have also offered LG to take back the product and I would purchase a new one from LG itself providing the additional charges. Even that was not accepted.
Please let me know how I can get out of this as I stand utterly disgusted. LG - a company of repute is only a myth.
