Refund of unused ticket

Sir / Madam,

1. Ref TDR No.084933 dated 26 Aug 07 (2400 hrs) for the refund of unused ticket PNR No. 250-3944908. (linked with 250-3944268) from H Nizammuddin (Delhi) to Dehradun. (Copy of TDR and Application for refund is enclosed with)

2. I was traveling from Agra Cantt to Dehradun on 26 Aug 07. I had the reservation in Taj express from Agra to H Nizammuddin on ticket PNR No. 250-3944268 and further from H Nizammuddin to Dehradun in H Nizammuddin – Dehradun AC Special Express on ticket PNR No. 250-3944908. (Original Tickets were deposited duly signed at the H Nizammuddin Rly Stn)

3. The Taj Express got delayed by more than two hrs due to some unknown reasons and reached H Nizammuddin at around 2340 hrs; by that time the H Nizammuddin – Dehradun AC Special Express had already left H Nizammuddin Rly Stn as per the scheduled time and hence I could not catch the H Nizammuddin – Dehradun AC Special Express to Dehradun.

4. Immediately I approached the station master H Nizammuddin Rly Stn and informed him, as per his directions I had deposited the tickets with the Ticket Depositing office for the refund of the unused ticket.

5. I had also completed all other formalities as per the directions from the Rly ticket depositing office like filling an application for the refund and writing a personal application to your office seeking the full amount of unused ticket to be refund, Since then I had been waiting for the refund as promised by the Rly office.

6. I am an Army Officer presently posted at Indian Military Dehradun as an Instructor. After waiting so long and approaching the local Rly office, I am compelled to write to you for the refund and also to inform you about the inability of the system which is responsible for such delays.

7. I solely feel I am being troubled for no fault of mine, as Taj Exp got delayed and I missed the linking train to Dehradun. Though I had kept the time gap of around two hrs in Arrival and Departure of the trains, I failed to catch the train due to unusual delay of the Taj Exp at H Nizammuddin Rly Stn and no fault of mine.

8. Now that refund is already being delayed, may I request you to please check the status of same and send the complete amount of the unused ticket as refund at the earliest. For any kind of conformation or clarification my phone no. and e-mail address are sated above.

10. I had to travel by road to cover the rest of my journey on 27Aug 08, as I had to join my office on the same day. It was really the worst inconvenience caused to me by the Rly service.

11. However, keeping the complaints aside, if I can request you to please take an early action in this regard. I will be very thankful to you.
