I have received call from the number 011-45593904 on 22/09 regarding their "Priority Circle Program".

Firstly I refused to speak to them, then the guy convinced me and said about that program details.

Also he said that Barclay will send the kit for my perusal as free of cost and after my confirmation by seeing the kit you will get charged of Rs.6000.

So I agreed to send the kit.

But unfortunately 25/09 payment of Rs.6000 was detected and is reflected in my statement for that month.

So, on 09/09 - I have called Chennai customer care and ask about prepayment charged they asked me to call the number 02040038282 regarding this.

Same day I have called to that number ask them to cancel this program.

The customer care person said "it is not possible to get back the amount charged for you, because there is no rights to cancel the amount by anyone from Barclay".

After I mentioned about their terms and conditions of the priority circle program he accept to register my complaint and he gave me a reference number 930000309599 and ask me to call again to check my status after 72hours.

"Terms and conditions for priority circle, according to Clause 2, subclause b., and c.,

b. The participation of Cardholder (s) in the Program is voluntary and if a Cardholder (s)

chooses not to participate in the Program, then he/she shall inform/intimate the Bank in this

regard within 21 days from the date of the amount has been debited to his card account, in the

manner as indicated by the Bank at its sole discretion from time to time. In the event, a

Cardholder (s) decides not to become member of the Program and has communicated the same

to Bank within the 21 days mentioned above, then the Bank shall reverse such charges received

from the Cardholder (s) provided that the Cardholder has not availed any benefit of the

programme.

c. Subject to terms of 2 b above, If a Barclaycardholder decides to withdraw from the

Program, then he/she shall intimate the Bank of the same. Upon withdrawal from the Program,

all Charges pertaining to the Program, borne by Barclaycardholder, shall be reversed."

Again I have called to Barclay's customer care in the same number 02040038282 on 16/10 to know my status of the complaint.

The person Nivedita spoke to me, she have checked my complaint status and revert to me that there is no possibility to cancel the amount, because I have accepted them to send the "priority circle program kit".

I said, "from my understanding the guy who convinced me for sending the kit is free of cost and after my confirmation to join the program only they will charge."

For this she replied "because of miss communication it happens and there is no way to cancel the amount charged for you, so you have to pay that amount".

I said about the terms and conditions of Priority circle program and there is possibility to cancel from the program within 21days after accepting it and my complaint date which is also with the time limit they mentioned.

So, this time she agreed to cancel the amount and cancellation amount will reflect in my next statement.

But the amount was not withdrawn and same was not reflected in next statement. So again I make call to customer care and launch complaint regarding this on 10/11.

Next few days I received a call from Delhi as below.

14/11- laxmi- Regarding the cancellation of the priority circle.

She called twice in same day,

First she ask me whether iam ready to pay the payment of the priority circle.

I said "no also regarding this I already made complaint". She replied that she aware of the complaints and there is no chance to cancel the program.

I mention about terms and condition then she ask for some time to check with my previous complaints.

2nd - call now she ask the reason for cancellation I said I am not interested to join in that program.

She now accepted to forward to higher official also she confirmed that my charges will be reversed in next statement.

But till now 09/12 the amount was not withdrawn and this time I received the statement with interest too.

I can say this is an kind of cheating they doing using the telephones.

Kindly help me to relieve from this kind of pain also advice me what I can do further.
