On December 31st i purchased Sony Ericsson W830i from Big C showroom in Chandanagar for Rs.9700/-. After using for two days, the battery was getting discharged within one hour of completely charging and even without using any multimedia applications (playing songs, FM etc.). The phone was also hanging very often. On 6th Jan., i went to Big C and the servicing person over there said, there is problem with operating system and this needs to be serviced at Sony Ericsson servicing center in Kukatpally. I requested the manager at Big C to replace the piece and provide a new piece as there are lot of problems with the piece i purchased (which was also agreed by the in-house servicing person at Big C). The manager informed me that a replacement will not be done at any cost and only servicing can be done either directly by me approaching the service center or through Big C personnel going to the servicing center and getting it done. But i think, it is not fair on the part of Big C to suggest consumer to stick to the same faulty piece which had problem within a week of purchasing it.
