I purchased a microwave oven Convection model MC 7688DP on 24-Oct. The demo person was supposed to turn up with in 24 hrs, he turned up on 27th. He opened the pack and placed the Microwave oven, started his demo. The timer knob is not working, it is just rotating. He told us this has happened during the transportation, and he would get this replaced. He called the service person and complained. The service person comes on 29th, he soldered the chip board as it was broken. After that it was functioning quite well. Suddenly on Nov 22, when we were preparing the Pizza, suddenly I saw the spark inside. Since then the time knob is not working. I gave them the complaint, on 26th (I was pre-occupied) complaint Id S8CB2604648. After a lot of followup the so called technician turned up today (28th), initially he listened to me, and told me that he will get the parts. When he had come down after another followup, he had not brought the parts. He opened, & saw the chip board. Informed us he will get the part and get back tomorrow. When I asked him to replace the unit, LG is saying they would do if it is inside one month.
I had also asked them to replace the unit when it had happened first time (that was just after 4 days, and the packing was also not opened). LG products are of very poor quality. Looks like they are not bothered about their customers.
Will LG get this repaired? I don't have any confidence that even after the repair the oven will function for a long time. Again I might have to chase them for another repair. Can they replace the unit? Even there is no guarantee that the new unit will work properly. After all it LG.
