Postpaid bills after disconnection

I was using Airtel-Paid connection between 2007and 2009 in bangalore... I have placed a request (Online) to Airtel to disconnect my connection on mid of May 09 (paid all bills till 1st May). They disconnected my connection (Incoming and Outgoing) with in 2 days.

I was happy and went out of station.

Because I had paid Rs.500 as security deposit and they assured my bill will be less that.

They should have detected my bills on pro-rata basis till mid of may (the day got disconnected) and should have let me known the rest if any left to be paid...

Instead they have kept my number and keep billing it till September but Sim is disconnected mode...

Now they are asking me to pay till September which comes around Rs.1900

I was a customer who used to pay around 5000 per month.

Please be care ful when taking Airtel connection..
