I was a Diners Card Holder in 1992. Due to a dispute in the transaction the card was cancelled. After prolonged negotiations Citibank accepted their error and I settled the outstanding with interest, in instalments.
The Bank had hosted my name in the defaulters list and till date it is reflected and I am unable to avail any loan.
Banks should be required to confirm before hosting defaulters listing only after a proper hearing by the ombudsmen. Banks are at fault in many of these listed cases.
