PATHETIC SERVICE AND THREATS ISSUED

This is to bring to your notice the kind of atrocious customer service provided by Airtel Mobile with regards to a complaint raised by me in Feb.

The customer service representative at each of the Airtel galleries is utter disgrace.

My airtel no. (9967593990) has been inactive since last week of Feb.

The problem that showed was ‘Simcard registration failed’ leading to no outgoings or incomings.

I tried to get in touch with the customer support who assured me that there were no issues with the simcard and that restarting the phone will do the needful.

Till April; I was told the same thing- until I visited the Airtel gallery in Mulund (West), Mumbai.

At Mulund, I was told that I shall need an alternate simcard which shall be posted across to me to my billing address. They also agreed to wave off all fixed charges levied for the time the service was not usable (March-April)

For the next 2 months (April-May); I have been told at least 4-5 times that a new simcard shall be mailed to me by the customer service executives who checked to call why there was no usage on the number. And each time I told them about the ‘registration failed’ issue. Each time a new representative called and assured that new simcard will be mailed the next day.

On 29 May one of the Airtel representatives who claimed her name was Neha from the Andheri branch- called and was mutually agreed between us that a new simcard would be sent over personally and also agreed to wave off all fixed charges for the unused period of March to May. Hence the net figure that she claimed to be payable was Rs. 312/-. She also assured that payment would be collected the following day- and the same person who shall be present to collect the cheque shall get a new simcard.

On 30 May although the airtel representative turned up to collect Rs. 312/-, he did not bring any simcard as promised.

I couldn’t have handed over the payment for the fact that assurance for a new simcard had been made on earlier occasions; but nothing ever was fulfilled.

When I asked the agent to come over the following day with the new simcard before which I refused to make any payments- the airtel rep from Andheri (Neha) ridiculed me and threatened dire consequences if I do not make payments for the said amount.

Is this the kind of customer support Airtel provides?

Firstly- the service stop abrupt without any prior notice-

Secondly- Even after regular follow-ups and consequent assurance, no new simcard was ever sent to me.

Thirdly- I am being threatened of dire consequences on refusal to pay up and ridiculed that I am not fit to use a postpaid.
