My VC #01510752071 (Dish TV Consumer Reference No.), I purchased the Dish TV HD on August 17 and the hardware (Set-top Box - STB) that was installed was defective. I faced numerous problems including a non-responsive STB, picture getting shrunk to one corner of the TV screen or zooming to larger than the TV screen.
On top of this, certain channels started dropping off - they were not available if you scroll for them in the menu or punch the channel no. using the remote control's keypad.
We registered the complaint at Dish TV customer care (Complaint No. 44513332) and there service response was very poor. The customer care mentioned their response time SLA to a complaint as 24 hrs. but the Technician responded in 48 hrs. only. The Technician called me to find out what my complaint was when I had clearly defined it to the Dish TV Customer Care. The technician mentioned that no details have been passed on to him by the Dish TV customer care. Amazing coordination!!
The technician has replaced the Set-top Box (STB) and confirmed that the new product will be active within a couple of hours. When we contacted Dish TV "once again" after 4 hours of "no-service", we were told that the activation takes anytime between 4 hrs. to 48 hrs.
I am exasperated and would seek a refund of my payment for my purchase of Dish TV HD services and product.
I will also advise all to seek an alternate service provider TataSky, Airtel, Videocon, Sun etc. (my other provider is Tata Sky and haven't had a bad experience with them)..
What a let down from a Brand which is aggressively promoting itself and using Sharukh Khan as its brand ambassador - wish they could use some of the money to improve their own process efficiencies.
