I travelled on Emirates London-Gatwick to Hyderabad-India sector and the Airlines have lost my only checked in baggage. Before they cofirmed that the bag was lost, I was told that I am not eligible for claims against delayed baggage as I hold an Indian passport. I was told that only those who have either British, US, Canadian, Australian... Passports are eligible or atleast one should have a residence visa for these countries.
I was asked to fill a form disclosing the contents of the bag so that they can scan and help them in tracing and the Manager and the customer support at Hyderabad airport clearly mentioned the form is not for claim.
Once it was confirmed that the bag was lost they settled up with a paltry $27/kg. I was very unhappy with the decision and spoke to them, they then changed the verdict stating I should I have mentioned the cost of each good and have the bills.
I wrote to customer services Emirates they say, they cant alter the decision.
Can any one please advise?
