This is dr. Rajanikanth from Bhopal, India. My membership number for india today book club is ITEC08814042. I got number of calls and sms alerts that as a member of the india today book club i can order for a swatch watch for Rs. 3199/- . I ordered for a BLACK SWATCH WATCH on 25th December, 08 and paid a sum of Rs. 3199/- for the same via my credit card (APPLE Tech). The reference number generated for the same is 7700005898. However i recieved 16 pens of poor quality (might cost Rs 10/ each) on 6th January 09, instead of the watch and i appraised the customer care agent about the issue. I was asked to return the same which i did promptly the very next day by EMS speed post to the following address/;
LIVING MEDIA INDIA Ltd., B -47, INDIRA ENCLAVE, NEB SARAI, NEW DELHI
this is the same address from where i recieved the wrong parcel. The web tracking of the consignment i sent shows that it was delivered on 13th January'09. you may also click on http://www.indiapost.gov.in/speednew/Track3.aspx? articlenumber=EI010229291IN for the same. i was promised that the watch that i ordered would be sent as soon as they recieve my consignment.
Since then, i have been mailing them and making futile calls to the customer care centre with no proper reply. They sometimes say they didnot recieve the parcel, sometimes say they it was recieved but the system is not updated for its status. All i got is a complaint number "COMP54990". It has become a practice for the past three months to call them up every week and hear the same story. They say my issue will be resolved in a week's time and the next time i call up, it is the same story. when i asked them to return my amount all they did was to generate another complaint number (67131) and asked for a time of 25 working days.
i feel cheated and very much disappointed at the lousy service and attitude of the customer service cell of a reputed company like "INDIA TODAY". i have been wasting my time, money and energy trying to tell my story to a new customer care personnel every time i call up. At the end, till date i have neither recieved my watch nor my money was returned. i urge, through this channel, that proper action be undertaken and the matter resolved at the earliest.
