I had been receiving offers from this organisation to buy books and CDs and get free holidays, free travel, adidas and reebok products and lots of promises. Once I relented and charged my card for Rs. 2000 worth of CDs and was to receive an Adidas bag and a Rs. 7000 worth return airfare and a 4day holiday package.
I was charged in October. I have not got the product yet. The bag has also not arrived.
I was instructed to download the travel and holiday vouchers, which I did... to discover both required me to pay for them. Rs. 7000 for the airline towards "taxes and other charges" and Rs. 800 to the holiday vendor towards something. Plus there were soooo many conditions, it is not worth an educated man's time to read all that. A shameful choice of partners who challenge the integrity of India Today's word.
So what did I do? Wrote emails... got responses the first 3-4 times (I have a proof) and then they stopped responding. I called. Customer service - if it picks the line (which is rare) - is discourteous and irresponsible. They ask me to email. I threatened to malign them. No response.
India Today Book Club is a scam. They are a slur on the use of the word "India". This is my complaint. They should be banned.
