Subject: Criminal delay in sending Encyclopedia Britannica CD ROMs etc with free gifts, order placed on 12th December Rs.999/- paid through Credit Card.
It is a matter of shame for a prestigious book club of a stature of its parent company i.e. The India Today Group to be so negligent towards its customers who look forward to get best quality products and a prompt service too.
For the detail of my woes I give below the list of calls made to the phone number 40502424 as given in the advertisement of the offer appeared in The Times of India dated 12th December.

14/3/09 Ravi Negi I was told that the parcel was sent by courier on
17th Dec.08 but the courier found the hose locked. And never cared to call us on our telephone number i.e.27315238. I was promised that it will be sent again within a week or ten days.
21/3/09 Ravinder Kumar Again the attendant felt sorry for the astonishing
delay, again the same promise to sent the parcel within a week. I requested him to tell the courier to call us on the number first so that we make it a point to stay at home to receive the much awaited parcel.
26/03/09 Deepak The same old story that the parcel was sent on
17th Dec.08 and the courier could not find us at
home.
31/03/09 Deepak Again the same old story and a promise to have
it sent within ten days.
06/04/09 Amit I requested the attendant to please give me the
phone number of his higher up, he showed his inability to do so. With apologies he made the repeated promise.
01/08/09 Sushma No change in status, apologies and promises.
If you find the above narrated excuses given by the attendants and the grossly negligent delay in sending the ordered parcel, normal, I will be constrained to write to the Hon’ Consumer Court and also to a newspaper (other than TOI) to let the public know about the much valued book club and to claim for refund along with penal interest and compensation for the agony caused by it in calling and waiting and again calling for about an year.
Thanking you in anticipation that I will actually receive my parcel within 7 days, as has been repeatedly promised by your call attendants.
